Privacy Policy

TungaLogic is an independent project based in the United Kingdom. In this notice, “TungaLogic”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to that project.

When you contact us through the website's contact form, we collect:

• your name
• your work email address
• your business name
• the type of enquiry or what you're interested in
• your message
• your approximate monthly message volume, if you choose to give it
• any other personal information you choose to include in your message

We also record that you ticked the box confirming you've read this Privacy Policy. If you email us directly, we receive your email address, your message and anything else you include.

Separately from anything you choose to send us, when you visit this website our hosting provider may process technical information needed to deliver, operate and protect the website, such as your IP address, browser and device information, and other request-related technical information. We don't use this information for analytics, advertising or profiling visitors, and the website doesn't use analytics or advertising trackers.

We use the information you give us to:

• respond to your enquiry
• communicate with you about your request or your interest in TungaLogic
• understand interest in TungaLogic and improve how we handle enquiries
• protect and operate the contact process where reasonably necessary, for example to filter spam

We don't currently add contact-form details to a marketing mailing list, and we don't use them to send you unrelated marketing.

Under UK data-protection law (the UK GDPR), we need a lawful basis to use your personal information.

For responding to ordinary enquiries and operating the contact process, we generally rely on our legitimate interests in responding to people who contact us and in operating and developing TungaLogic responsibly. You can object to this - see “Your data-protection rights” below.

Where you ask us about using TungaLogic for your business, some of this processing may also be necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract with you.

Ticking the box to confirm you've read this Privacy Policy simply records that it was made available to you. It isn't consent to us using your information, and we don't rely on consent as our lawful basis for the contact form.

We use a small number of service providers to run this website and handle enquiries. They process personal information on our behalf, only where needed to provide their services to us:

• Netlify, which hosts this website and processes contact-form submissions through Netlify Forms, including storing submissions, sending us notification emails and filtering spam. As part of its form-processing service, Netlify uses Akismet to help identify spam submissions.
• Google, which provides the email service we use to receive those notifications and to reply to enquiries.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or where it's reasonably necessary to protect our rights or other people's safety.

We do not sell your personal information.

Our service providers may store or process personal information in countries outside the United Kingdom. Where UK data-protection law requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards for those transfers.

We normally delete personal information relating to an enquiry within 12 months after the enquiry has been resolved, unless we need to keep it for longer for a legitimate or legal reason.

Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you the right to:

• access the personal information we hold about you
• have inaccurate information corrected
• have your information deleted
• restrict how we use your information
• object to how we use your information
• data portability, where it applies

Your right to object: because we rely on legitimate interests, you can object to our use of your information at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation. We will then stop, unless we have compelling legitimate grounds to continue or need the information for legal claims.
